postcrossing is a site that i use to exchange postcards across the country. i've been using postcrossing since about march of 2017. how it works is: you create an account, and are given an address. you put an id on the postcard and send it to the address you were given. once the person receives the card, they go onto the site and register the id. once the id is registered, your address is sent to someone, and they send you a card. i love this system because you can only get cards if you send cards, which means everyone is actively sending each other cards. i've gotten cards from all across the world! check out some snaps of the cards i've received, as well as the map of sent & received cards from postcrossing. you can check out my postcrossing here .  my travel map of the cards i've sent (red lines) and received (blue)

snail mail suggestions - what to include in your letter

while i love writing and sending handwritten mail, i know that looking at what other people are including in their letters can be a bit overwhelming. i know that sometimes i feel as if i'm not including enough. although you should have kind penpals who are happy with whatever you send, whether it's just a heartfelt letter or more, sometimes it can be fun to include other things. here's a list of a few other items that you can throw in to send off to a pen pal: a mini notebook (look up: how to make a matchbox notebook. they take like 2 minutes) a playlist  teabags  a list challenge (i.e.: list your favorite foods, your favorite places to travel, etc.  quotes an inspiration bag (i love love love to do this for both my penpals as well as the people in my life that i see face to face. i fill a small glassine envelope with inspirational quotes, glitter, images, etc. so that way when the recipient is feeling down, they can go through the bag) stickers polaroid picture...

i started sending snail mail at the beginning of 2017, so it's been officially a year since i began! sending snail mail & keeping pen pals has helped me connect with people across states. i love being able to express myself creatively as well as create something for other people. i highly suggest writing to a penpal if you're even the slightest bit interested! (ps, the address in the photo is an old address!) outgoing mail from myself incoming letter from my first ever penpal! incoming mail incoming mail, along with my outgoing response
